Description
Hemokinin 1 (HK-1) is encoded by the preprotachykinin C (PPT-C) gene, which could be identified in hematopoietic cells in mouse. The undecapeptide HK-1 is a full agonist of all known three tachykinin NK1, NK2, and NK3 receptors with a remarkable selectivity for the NK1 receptor. In in vivo experiments it acts with potency similar to substance P.
