Description
The hexapeptide GYPGQV corresponding to the amino terminus of the fourth protease-activated receptor (PAR4) after the cleavage at Arg⁴⁷/Gly⁴⁸ was tested for its ability to stimulate COS cells expressing PAR4. GYPGQV readily activated both wild-type and mutant PAR4 (R47A) at 500 µM, whereas thrombin and trypsin only activate the wild-type PAR4.
