The octapeptide Peptide V, WQPPRARI, constitutes one of the heparin-binding amino acid sequences found in the carboxy-terminal heparin-binding domain of fibronectin. The ovalbumin-coupled peptide is able to support cell attachment, and both the ovalbumin-coupled and the free peptides are potent inducers of focal adhesion formation.
